What if my child has an accident?
What happens if my child has an accident?
If your child has an accident at school, the teacher will immediately apply first aid. For minor accidents the teachers will send an : “Ouch Report” that records the nature of the injury and the action taken. In the case of a more serious illness or accident, every effort will be made to contact the child’s parents so they may come and take the child to hospital or to a medical practitioner.
As is is very important for us to be able to contact parents quickly please ensure that the contact numbers you provide on the enrolment and permission forms are correct and updated. If a child’s condition requires urgent medical attention’ an ambulance will be called to transport the child to the casualty section of the nearest hospital. The child’s parents will be contacted and advised to meet the child there. A staff member well known to the child will accompany the child if the parent is unable to be contacted.
