Parents:
We believe in the importance of partnering with
parents in this dynamic stage of child development in the training and
equipping of their children and their individual gifts. Parents can
be involved in the school in many ways.

volunteers:
in the classroom helping with special projects.
*Open
days:
once a term when parents can visit the class throughout
the day.
*Field
Trips: Parents are invited
to join these extra learning experiences.
*Parent
Group: each term parents can join a coffee
morning where we look at a series on parenting issues. This is an opportunity
for parents to meet and learn together. Topics include: Boundaries with
Kids, Raising Great Kids, The STEP programme. (System Training For Effective
Parenting).

Topic Evenings: Three times a year the school
holds evening meetings to assist parents with issues relating to their
child. Parents are expected to attend these seminars, as they are an
integral part of the overall school programme.

Teacher Conferences:
Held
twice a year to discuss your child's progress.

visits: Teachers arrange with the parents
to meet the child in their home setting.

library: Parents can borrow resources from
the Focus on the Family bookstand.
Special Events
Taste
of culture:
Small World has over 24 nationalities. Over two weeks we celebrate "Children
of the World" culminating with a special day of food and fun.
Christmas
Nativity Play:
a special family event where everyone participates as we tell the story
of Christmas through acting, prose and song.
Dad's
Date:
A special evening twice a year where children can come with their dad,
uncle, grandfather or big brother. It is a great time of relationship
building with your child in this city, where dad's travel and have long
working hours.
